Dani and Connor, hello! We think it's cool that you live near the Grand Canyon! Lulu and Roy haven't been there yet, but I have!
Do you like sushi?
Roy: My favorite one is maguro (slices of tuna). I like to go to the sushi shop!
Lulu: My favorite sushi is ikura (salmon eggs) and ika (squid) and natto (fermented soybeans) and egg...but mostly ikura! I love when the eggs go squish! I could eat it every breakfast and lunch and dinner for the rest of my life!
[Adam's note: We all love sushi, though I must admit I'm not as adventurous as the rest of my family. But I didn't start eating sushi at all until I was in college! As a child in a small town in the American Midwest, I just never had the chance!]
I am also curious to know if your dad cooks American dishes for you guys.
Lulu: Daddy can only make one thing: sandwiches.
Roy: But before when I was getting ready for soccer, he made me a little pizza, but with normal bread.
[Adam's note: It's true, I don't cook at all. When I was in my teens and 20s, I worked in several restaurants, including as a cook, and enjoyed it at the time...but I completely lost interest over the years. Before I got married, I could barely feed myself. ]
Thank you for your questions, and for your birthday wishes for Roy! He got a new soccer ball and we were kicking it around this afternoon! (Now I'm exhausted...)

Marisa: "Victory moment:" My almost 4-year-old daughter told me yesterday in the ml (rough translation): "mom, there's something wrong with the cartoons, can you fix it, please?"... she was accidentally watching TV in the ML! So I gladly obliged

Amy: Was stunned to hear eldest had an anglophone (ml) accent when she began to read in the ML this afternoon!! Didn't last more than a paragraph until her brain switched language, but chuffed mum here!!

Mayken: My daughter found the secret stash of ml books I'd bought at the closure sale of the ml book store two months ago and hidden away for later. Guess it's a good time for new books now, right?

Caro C.: My baby (16mo) perfectly knows what "hi5" means and readily shows her hand even when we are not showing our hand first. It feels like the first minor blossom of the bilingual seed.
